Africa Expeditions
Africa Expeditions are the first travel to another country you do in Gladiatus. There a new and exciting expeditions are revealed
Expeditions
Voodoo Temple
Voodoo Temple is the first expedition in Africa.
Description
It is the generous gift made by the Empire for the Umpokta. After the foundation walls and the building material were delivered, the Umpokta banished all Roman architects and finished constructing the building themselves. Religious reasons were pushed forward. Certainly the temple probably holds many secrets and treasures, which are protected by force of arms.
Entry level: 20
Enemy levels: 30-38

Real level to engage: 25
Advanced Dungeon: No
Additional Info: The expedition is ready as soon as you are able to travel to Africa at the level of 20. However, enemies are level 30+ so fighting here on 20 is mission impossible. Perhaps if you are good geared you could pull it off on 25. The dungeon is as well too strong for a level 20 so in general don't bother coming at level 20 unless you know what you are doing. Interesting fact is that all of the enemies here are with very low HP and Constitution. Seth Priest is godly and practically unbeatable while you are on relevant level. Great rewards from him but Charisma is comparable to a level 50+ creature.

Bridge
Bridge is the second expedition in Africa and while it takes a lot to adapt once you arrive in Africa, this expedition seems to be a bit more reasonable. Fierce and aggressive tribe.
Description
It is the generous gift made by the Empire for the Umpokta. Additional Info: Funny how strong Man Eater is. You better stay with Tax Collector. Bone Shaman is really strong. Best if you farm Tax Collector until next expedition is available.

Blood Cave
Blood Cave is the third expedition in Africa.
Description
There`s a rumour amongst the superstitious natives that magical rituals are held here. The historiography of the empire writes of no such events taking place there. The fact is though, that the cave`s cooling shadows attracts deadly animals.

Real level to engage: 35
Advanced Dungeon: No
Additional Info: Blood Wolf is pretty beatable. However Giant Beetle is really hard with an armour of 5-6k your attacks would not pierce with a lot of damage. Fire Dancer is not as strong as other 3rd expedition enemies compared to other expeditions. Same could be said for the Fire Demon. By far the strongest in the expedition but not as strong as other bosses compared to their expeditions.

Lost Harbour
Lost Harbour is the fourth expedition in Africa. It's the last expedition in Africa before going to Germania for the first time so enjoy is as you won't be coming back in a long time. It has interesting dungeons and expedition enemies.
Description
Once a thriving Viking outpost, it has in the meantime become a shadow of its former self. A textbook example of the empire and its allies. The strange power of voodoo forced the blonde giants to their knees. It apparently still holds findings from the houses and ships of the Vikings, that aren`t of any interest to the Umpokta.
Entry level: 35
Enemy levels: 45-53

Real level to engage: 40-42
Additional Info: Crocodile is pretty weak so it can be attacked easily at lower level. Undead Holder is not as strong as well because he has very low Dexterity which means that he won't be hitting you a lot. Giant Water Snake is strong but beatable as well. Mokele Mbembe is a special case. Can spawn as low as Level 48 and stats are good but not impossible. There is one problem however. Its non-penetrable armor makes him a though opponent. At 7-9.5k it consumes almost all the damage a level ~40 gladiator can do.

Umpokta Tribe
Umpokta Tribe is the fifth expedition in Africa. Really important one and is the first expedition that you will encounter for your big return to Africa after being in Germania and Italy. It has really crucial dungeons. It houses the Africa's high command.
Description
As far as the Empire is concerned, it is the high-point of civilisation amongst the savages of the savannah and deserts. Primitive house construction and religious superstition are very prevalent in everyday Umpokta life. With their masks and threatening songs they frighten the tenderly strung amongst our citizens.
Entry level: 75
Enemy levels: 85-93

Real level to engage: 75
Additional Info: Now there are strange things about this expedition. Tribal Warrior and Tribal Magician are pretty doable. However Spirit Warrior has the 3rd biggest Armor in the game. Seth High Priest is one good example of a high end boss. His stats and rewards and treasures are so high that in terms of gold, experience and honour he is among the 110+ bosses. There is something weird about the expedition in my encounters. I did not encounter any item drops while there.

Caravan
Caravan is the fifth expedition in Africa and is very fruitful and boosting expedition. Enemies are not impossibly hard and they are more than generous.
Description
A small shadow over the relationship between the Umpokta tribe and the Empire is this hijacked caravan. There are still plenty of goods in the desert belonging to our citizens. The negotiations are being drawn out because of communication problems.

Additional Info: They are not wearing a lot of armor as clothing and this is reflected in their Armour stat - it is low. Spy and Caravan Guard are pretty weak, while Elite Guard is strong but not unbeatable. Slave Merchant is generous and if you could manage to beat him without loosing too many battles, go for him.

Mesoai Oasis
Mesoai Oasis is the fifth expedition in Africa.
Description
Fruitfully it lies in the desert and fearful are its dangers. As one of the few oases here in this region it is a place of refuge for many animals looking to quench their thirst. The shady trees offer shelter from the sun and offer predators the possibility of getting some food.

Additional Info: Just like Caravan this is a pleasant and on the spot expedition. Not to mention that the animals are really good looking. Nothing out of the ordinary. Weak 1 and 2 and strong 3rd in the face of Demon Lion. Demon Elephant is a jewel in terms of treasures. It can reach item level of 108 which is on the maximum frontier of your gear at this point and it will be a lot of purples. He can drop Ichorus so he might surprise you with a new weapon, especially if it rolls Purple or Orange quality.

Cliff Jumper
Cliff Jumper is the fifth expedition in Africa.
Description
In the religious life of the Umpokta a surreal ritual has become tradition. On every third new moon the villages` priests meet and choose someone especially gifted. This person is accompanied by a procession to Cliffjumper Mountain. On arrival the chosen ones throw themselves jubilantly off the cliff to their deaths, it is said that it is a gift to the spirits. Aside from the spirits the numerous wild animals that have settled in this area also get some satisfaction from it.

Additional Info: This is the third of the pleasant high level African expeditions. Same as Mesoai-Oasis it is very standard. Weak Cursed Antelope and Giant Spider and very strong Shaman and High Shaman. High Shaman is considered one of the high end bosses in the game and is the highest creature in Africa. It's another question whether you will be able to effectively farm him until you leave this place on level 102 and to depart for Germania for good. Cursed Antelope has unnaturally low drop rate for items and Shaman seems to be drop really high item level, just like High Shaman. In your early 90s, try to farm Shaman or go back to Mesoai and try farming Demon Elephant. Mid 90's around level 95 you might be able to farm High Shaman more effectively. Do not farm him unless you win 9 out of 10 battles. It's just not worth it experience wise.
